RN Elite Doulas was founded by two healthcare professionals, Trista & Ciara, who wanted to bring luxury, comfort, and empowerment to women through their birth coaching and doula services. They knew from the start that they didn’t want their brand to look like every other doula service out there. No animals, no monograms, no clichéd pregnancy imagery—just something unique, classy, and professional.
The brand needed to feel luxurious, sophisticated, and timeless while still being approachable and comforting. Our job was to create a look that stood out but still felt deeply connected to the care and empowerment they provide.
Trista & Ciara came to us with a clear mission: to design a brand that felt special, empowering, and didn’t fall into the trap of overused doula symbols like trees of life or silhouettes of pregnant women. They wanted an icon-based logo that symbolized birth but in an abstract, creative way—something that felt like them, something professional and meaningful.
The hardest part of this project? Incorporating the letters "RN" into the wordmark without making it steal the spotlight. Since it was part of the brand name, we had to include it, but it couldn’t overpower the rest of the design.
Another challenge was figuring out how to symbolize birth without going the obvious route. We didn’t want to show babies or pregnant women. Instead, we aimed for something more abstract and elegant that would resonate with both founders and their clients.
After some creative exploration and a stylescape presentation, we landed on the perfect direction. We designed an abstract icon that loops continuously, symbolizing the circle of life. The top half forms a crown—a subtle nod to the "Elite" in their name. The three main points of the crown represent the woman giving birth and Trista & Ciara working together, as a team of three.
The icon, when flipped, represents the birth itself, with the baby’s head and two hands emerging. It’s abstract, but the symbolism is all there.
To add to the luxurious feel, we used rich, deep greens and soft pastels with gold accents. The pattern we created from the icon has a high-end fashion vibe, giving the whole brand a classy and professional look.
RN Elite Doulas walked away from this project confident and proud. They had struggled with past designers who didn’t deliver what they wanted, but after working with us, they were excited to showcase their new brand.
Their new look is now front and center on business cards, their website, social media, and ads. Their Orlando startup now has a polished and professional face that perfectly reflects the luxury and care they provide to their clients.
